Thanks for the feedback so far. The Big E is a little too long for me (@10days!!!). Common Ground will not have me, because I'm not from Maine. The NEKMF is a great event ( loud and late though). It's just hard to get a solid date on the NEKMF, they seem to announce their dates in late spring and early summer. It's hard to make such last minute plans. ( hint hint, Ed)
Keep the ideas coming please.

The Big E and the Common Ground Fair are both great suggestions. The only major festival I went to this past year was the North East Kingdom Music Festival (NEKMF). It was a good event, but I'm not sure if it would be worth your trouble. I'd stick with the fair circuit.

PS

Of course, I know the Big E runs in the sutumn and you asked for summer fests, but thought I would offer the suggestion anyway just in case.

Unless you already either have it in mind or cannot fit some time in for it (affordable-wise or whatever), how about the Eastern States Exposition: Big E ( http://www.thebige.com/bige.html )?

It runs from September 15 - October 1, 2006 at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, Massachusetts:

Eastern States Exposition
1305 Memorial Avenue
West Springfield, MA 01089
413-737-2443
Info Line - 413-205-5115

It is just a thought.

It has been many, many years since I went to the Big E, but enjoyed it when I was there. It is definitely big, that's for sure.
